Use AI to Summarise Notes Without Losing Important Details

A short summary can become misleading when it removes a condition, exception or unresolved question. Meeting notes and project updates need more than a compressed list of confident statements.

A practical way to start

Tell the assistant which details must survive. Separate decisions from suggestions, and keep owners and dates only when they were actually recorded. Ask for unclear passages to be marked rather than silently repaired.

Prompt to try

Summarise these notes under Decisions, Proposed Ideas, Actions and Open Questions. Preserve all stated deadlines. Include an owner only if named in the notes. Quote any ambiguous deadline in the Open Questions section. Use only the supplied notes: [text].

Check the result

Compare every action with the source. “We could ask Musa” is not the same as “Musa will do it”. Also check whether a date describes the meeting itself or the deadline for an action.

Keep the original notes available with the summary. If people disagree later, the source record is more useful than another rewrite of the already shortened version.
